We are here to help. with some factors to consider when choosing the right percentage of tint for your car.

  • Your Location: The legal tint percentage varies from state to state, so be sure to check your local laws before you get your car tinted.
  • Your Needs: What are you hoping to achieve with tinting your car? If you’re looking for privacy, you’ll want a darker tint. If you’re more concerned about blocking UV rays, you can use a lighter tint that still provides high UV rejection.
  • Your Budget: Different window tint technologies have vastly differing pricing. It’s important to understand your overall objective of having window tint installed and how the various options fit within your budget.].
  • Your Vehicle’s color: The color of your car can also affect the way tint looks. Darker cars tend to look better with darker tint, while lighter cars can look good with lighter tint.
Check out this chart and a general guide to the different window tint percentages.Window Tint Percentage - How To Choose The Right Tint For Your Vehicle
  • 70%+: This is very light window film. High tech, innovative films can be this light and still offer decent heat & UV rejection. This is a popular option when high visibility is desired.
  • 50%-70%: This is a good compromise between privacy and visibility. It blocks out enough light to reduce some glare and heat, but it’s still light enough to see through easily.
  • 35%-50%: This is a slightly darker tint that offers a little more privacy while giving more heat and glare reduction. It’s still easy to see through, but it’s not as bright as a 50% tint.
  • 20%-35%: This is a dark tint that offers a great deal privacy. This is comparable to what you typically see from the factory on the back windows of SUVs and vans. It’s not as easy to see through, but it does a great job of blocking out light and heat.
  • 15% and Lower: This is typically knows as “Limo Tint”. This window film is very dark and offers maximum privacy. This is not a film that would be considered safe for front side windows when the visibility of the driver is imperative.

Here are some additional tips for choosing the right window tint percentage for your car:

  • Consider the Climate Where You Live –  If you live in a hot climate, you may want a darker or higher technology tint to block more heat. If you live in a cold climate, you may want a lighter tint to let in more light.
  • Think About Your Driving Habits. If you do a lot of night driving, you’ll want a tint that doesn’t make it too dark to see at night.
  • Consider the Style of Your Car. If you have a sporty car, you may want a darker tint to give it a more aggressive look. If you have a luxury car, you may want a lighter tint to keep it looking elegant.

Automotive Window Tint Myths – Check Out These Truths vs Fiction https://midwesttinting.com/2023/06/22/automotive-window-tint-myths-overland-park-kansas/ https://midwesttinting.com/2023/06/22/automotive-window-tint-myths-overland-park-kansas/#respond Fri, 23 Jun 2023 02:19:10 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=20642 As we interact with customers that have questions about window tint, we realize that there are some automotive window tint myths that need to be dispelled. In this article, we discuss 3 common myths and give you the truth.

3 Automotive Window Tint Myths Dispelled

Automotive Window Tint Myths - 3 Truths Versus Fiction - 2

  1. Window Tint Will Make My Windows Too Dark – While there may have been a time that this was true, modern window film technology allows you to block a significant amount of heat and harmful UV rays from passing through the glass without noticeably darkening the glass. In fact, we have technology that enables a barely noticeable window film to outperform the heat rejecting properties of a film of limousine darkness from years ago.
  2. Vehicle Window Tint Will Change Color and Fail Leaving a Bubbly and Hazy Mess – This can certainly be true if substandard window film is used during the installation. It is imperative to have your window tint installed by a professional shop utilizing high quality window films backed by a manufacturers warranty. Most professional window films will come with a lifetime warranty against color change, bubbling, peeling, haziness, etc. We would be happy to provide you with a copy of the warranty for the window film products we utilize as well as warranty paperwork once your installation is complete.
  3. Automotive Window Tint Is Illegal To Have Installed – This is also false. The laws regarding vehicle window tint vary based on what state you reside in. To learn more about the tint laws in your area as well as anywhere in the United States and Canada, you can check out the handy guide available HERE.

Does Automotive Tint Really Reduce Heat Inside The Car? https://midwesttinting.com/2023/06/07/heat-reducing-automotive-tint-overland-park-kansas/ https://midwesttinting.com/2023/06/07/heat-reducing-automotive-tint-overland-park-kansas/#respond Thu, 08 Jun 2023 03:22:25 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=20630 A recent post on Verify This online asked the question does automotive tint really reduce the heat inside your car.

They start the article by saying “Every car owner knows a hot day can feel even worse when you climb into a car that’s been sitting outside. Interior car temperatures can reach well over 100 degrees after just an hour of sitting in the summer heat. People try all kinds of things to keep their cars a little cooler while they’re out in the sun, including adding extra tinting to their car’s windows. Dark windows may increase your privacy, but do they actually cool the interior too?”

The article shares a video that helps to answer this question.

The article goes on to state that “For decades, studies have found tinted windows can help reduce a car’s internal temperature by at least a few degrees. The studies have shown that you don’t have to tint all of your windows to see a decline in your car’s interior temperature.”

With the Summer heat arriving, we wanted to share this and we hope you found this information about how automotive window tint reduces heat inside your car helpful. We offer free quotes for adding window tint to your particular vehicle and can discuss the various types of tint available and their heat reducing capability.

Automotive Window Tint Categories And Their Benefits https://midwesttinting.com/2022/04/28/automotive-window-tint-catagories-benefits-kansas-city-kansas/ Thu, 28 Apr 2022 10:51:58 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=14472 If you’re looking to add great looks and some added benefits you may not even be aware of, automotive window tint might be for you. This article is aimed to help you understand the various categories of window tint available and also explain the many benefits above and beyond looks of having your vehicle tinted.

Categories of Automotive Window Tint

Automotive Window Tint Categories And Their Benefits - Car Window Tinting in Tukwila, WashingtonDyed Window Film – This is a very popular and value based choice in vehicle window film. This type sandwiches a layer of dyed polyester between an adhesive and scratch resistant top coat for a flat, non-reflective finish. It’s often an entry level option because it’s the least expensive. Although it doesn’t block as much heat as other options, it does have great glare reducing effects and still cuts out 99% of the UV.

Metal Hybrid Window Film – For better performance while still maintaining a relatively value price point, you can have your windows tinted with a metal hybrid film. The advantages here are that the metal layer enables the film to reduce a much greater amount of heat compared to dyed films. However, this comes at the cost of a slightly more reflective appearance and possible interference with electronics.

Carbon Window Film – Carbon window tint has become a very popular option. They often reduce similar amounts of heat as a metal hybrid film while maintaining the great looks of a dyed window film. They also do not interfere with electronic systems. This comes at a cost though. Carbon based window films are usually offered at a mid-tier price point.

Ceramic or IR Rejecting Window Film – These films represent the best tint you can get for your vehicle. These films typically have a great, non-reflective appearance while rejecting industry leading amounts of heat. These films also will not interfere with electronics. However, because they do nearly everything well, be prepared to pay a bit more for this type of tint than some of the others.

Benefits of Automotive Window Tint

Automotive Window Tint Categories And Their Benefits - Car Window Tinting in Tukwila, Washington 3Cooler Temperatures Inside Your Car – All window tint will help reduce the heat inside of your vehicle, but some cut more heat than others (We will discuss that below). Keeps that annoying summer heat where it belongs: outside your vehicle!

Reduced Glare – Because vehicle tint reduces the visible light by varying degrees, it can also help you not be getting blinded by dangerous glare on sunny days. Like a high quality pair of sunglasses on a bright day.

Less Eye Fatigue – Like we mentioned above, window tint reduces glare. Reduced glare means your eyes have to work way less hard to maintain focus on the road. Some people even report fewer driving headaches and migraines after they install a window film.

Increased UV Protection – A window film is a bit like giving your car windows a coat of unbelievable sunscreen. Most quality window films block 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, so you’re protected from a primary cause of melanoma, premature aging, and cataracts. See an article by The Skin Cancer Foundation for more information on this by clicking HERE.

Added Security – Window tint may reduce your risk of a break-in from a vandal who sees something valuable in your interior. Crimes of opportunity are a huge type of theft, and if you make your items less visible, you may be less likely to experience a break in.

Reduce Glass Shatter-Risk – Certain window films can actually reduce your risk of being injured by shattered glass. If your car is struck in an impact, a shatter-resistant film’s strong adhesive holds onto the pieces of glass, which can help keep you safer in an accident.

Check Out These Top 5 Ways To Customize Your Vehicle https://midwesttinting.com/2022/04/08/customize-your-vehicle-kansas-city/ https://midwesttinting.com/2022/04/08/customize-your-vehicle-kansas-city/#respond Fri, 08 Apr 2022 19:42:55 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=19990 What you drive is a reflection of your personality and lifestyle. Even if your ride isn’t a flashy hotrod, you can still trick it out with some value-added enhancements that make your ride just a little more joyful. Unless you’re lucky enough to have more than one primary vehicle, you’re probably only driving one car. So we wanted to share the top 5 ways to customize your vehicle to make sure you have it exactly right for your lifestyle with some custom upgrades.

Top 5 Ways to Customize Your Vehicle

Update / Enhance or Upgrade The Paint – An expensive but potentially more impactful upgrade is a custom paint job, but there are other options. When you bought your vehicle, you probably cared more about performance and reliability than a specific color, but there’s no reason your ride can’t look exactly the way you want it.

Check Out These Top 5 Ways To Customize Your Vehicle - Automotive Window TintCustomizing your vehicle with a vinyl graphic accent stripe or design is one way to spice up the existing paint color and instantly freshens up your vehicle. You can also choose to do a full color change vinyl wrap. The nice thing about choosing a vinyl wrap versus a paint job is that you can choose a flashy or trendy color as the wrap can always be removed. With professional installation, it is often difficult to even differentiate whether you are looking at paint or a vinyl wrap.

Protect The Vehicle Finish – Nothing irritates vehicle owners as much as a fresh ding or scratch. Consider installing a clear paint protection film that will keep your vehicle’s paint looking great. This innovative film can be used to protect nearly the entire vehicle or just high wear areas like the door thresholds, door handle areas and the top of the rear bumper. Best of all, this product can help maintain the value of your vehicle by preventing scratches and dings that will lower what the next owner will pay.

In addition, ceramic paint coatings have become another great way to protect a vehicle’s paint.Like wax, this liquid coating is applied by hand and then cures to the paint to provide a protective layer. However, unlike waxes that wear off in months, these coatings will last for years protecting your finish from things like bird droppings, water marks, environmental contaminants and staining from insects and road grime. They also make it much easier to keep your vehicle looking clean and glossy as the coating does not allow the surface debris to stick to the paint.

Window Tint – A professionally installed window tint does more than just add that “cool factor” to your car. It can also reduce excessive heat from the sun, dangerous glare and filter out cancerous UV rays that can damage your health and bleach your interiors. Window tint also can add privacy and (okay, fine) a definite upgrade in the coolness department. There are different densities and performance of window tint that filter more or less light and heat, so visit an installation professional to decide which window film will be best for your life. Please make sure to understand the vehicle window tinting laws in your area by clicking HERE.

Upgrade The Interior Accessories – From mats to steering wheel covers, there’s a lot you can do to personalize your vehicle without ever heading to a mechanic. Upgrade your floor mats for added style and protection. You can even have custom mats made with colors and phrases to match your décor. Steering wheel covers or refinishes can add some extra impact, and you can even add custom foot pedals to your vehicle that are better looking and easier to use. Finally, don’t forget phone holsters and other mobile phone add-ons that can be inexpensively added yourself!

Improve The Audio System – Who doesn’t love listening to music in the car? A great audio system improves your audio experience and transforms your car into your own personal studio. No recording booth necessary. If you want to customize your audio system, you’ll need to do some research as to which system works best with your car.

Not all systems will be compatible. Full audio systems can get pricey, but you don’t have to go for a high-octane stereo system to enjoy an upgrade. You can even implement basic add-ons to increase the functionality of your stock system. Get one that works for you and your budget. If you want help, you can visit a vehicle audio pro who can help you make a decision, source the equipment and complete the installation.

Car Window Tint Tips To Avoid Getting a Bad Tint Job https://midwesttinting.com/2022/02/25/car-window-tint-tips-kansas-city/ https://midwesttinting.com/2022/02/25/car-window-tint-tips-kansas-city/#respond Fri, 25 Feb 2022 23:25:24 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=19957 Thinking of having your vehicle tinted? This can be one of the best upgrades for your vehicle if you avoid the pitfalls. Here are 3 car window tint tips to help you get a job you will love.

Car Window Tint Tips To Avoid Getting a Bad Tint Job
  1. Ask To Stop By The Shop To See Some Installations – A reputable shop will be happy to have a potential customer stop by and see the quality of their work. No matter what someone says, there is no way to fake the quality of installation. Look at the edges of roll down windows and for excessive dirt, bubbles or creases in the window tint. If you are not happy with the samples they show you, chances are you will not be happy with the installation on your vehicle.
  2. Ask About The Performance Characteristics of the Window Film Being Used – Reputable tinting companies will be installing quality window films. Most companies offer multiple lines of window film that have differing performance characteristics at a variety of price points. Request the details about the construction and performance of the window films you are considering. Make sure when comparing two different tinting companies that you are comparing apples to apples. One may have a lower price, but it may be for a less expensive, lower performing window film.
  3. Ask About The Film Warranty – Make sure you ask about the warranty of the film you’re considering and what exactly is covered by that warranty. Many modern window tint films come with a lifetime warranty on the original purchaser. Again, make sure you are comparing apples to apples when considering two different film options.

As a final note, make sure you understand the window tint laws in your area. A reputable shop will be able to explain the law to you and how the films you are considering relate to that law.

If you would like more information on the quality vehicle window tinting products we offer, we would love to help. We can discuss the various options and assist you in making a great choice for your vehicle. You can contact us directly by calling (913) 384-2665 for Overland Park, Kansas, (816) 353-2665 for Independence, Missouri, and (816) 560-2665 for Lee’s Summit, Missouri. May Is Skin Cancer Awareness Month – See How Window Film Helps https://midwesttinting.com/2021/05/04/skin-cancer-awareness-month-kansas-city-2/ https://midwesttinting.com/2021/05/04/skin-cancer-awareness-month-kansas-city-2/#respond Tue, 04 May 2021 14:32:50 +0000 https://midwesttintingkc.com/?p=19288 In our effort to contribute to skin cancer awareness, we are offering a free automotive window film installation at each of our Kansas City locations to help protect you or your family. Window film can be a great part of helping to protect your skin while in a vehicle, at home or at the office. We wanted to share this article to do our part to help provide insight as to how window films can offer significant protection. **See the end of the article for more details regarding your chance to get window film applied to your vehicle windows.**

Based on information from The Skin Cancer Foundation, with over 5 million cases diagnosed in the United States each year, skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. That is why observing May as Skin Cancer Awareness Month is so important. According to The Skin Cancer Foundation, the incidence of this disease reaching epidemic levels. Fortunately, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable forms of cancer. About 90 percent of nonmelanoma skin cancers and 85 percent of melanoma cases are associated with exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. By raising awareness of the dangers of unprotected exposure and encouraging sun-safe habits, we can change behaviors and save lives.

Skin care to help prevent skin cancerWhile fad diets and pop science tout “cancer preventing” super foods with difficult to pronounce names, protecting yourself from the most common type of cancer really comes down to blocking UV rays. Skin cancer affected more than 5.4 million people in the United States in a single year, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year than all the other cancer types combined, and one in five Americans will develop it by the age of 70. Because this risk is so great, we wanted to offer some skin cancer prevention steps you can take to protect yourself while on the go, at home, and on the job.

Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of RecommendationYou may wonder why we are sharing this information with you. What does window film have to do with skin cancer prevention? Actually, professionally installed window films are a given the Seal of Recommendation by The Skin Cancer Foundation as a safe and effective sun protection. They warn that ultraviolet radiation can travel through car and home windows, where it can contribute to the daily accumulation of sun exposure that can lead to skin cancer and photoaging. UV-blocking films can not only protect you against this exposure, but can offer other benefits as well. Harmful ultraviolet rays (UVR) are sneaky. Not only can they cause skin cancer and visible signs of aging, they’re also very good at finding you. They can bounce off water, off sand, and they can penetrate glass. Which means that even if you’re inside your car or house, if you’re sitting next to a window with sunlight streaming in, you’re at risk for UV damage. Window film is an increasingly effective solution, offering substantial indoor protection by blocking up to 99.9 percent of UVA radiation.

Vehicle UV Protection

Skin Protection While Driving With Automotive Window FilmsResearcher Scott Fosko, MD in an American Academy of Dermatology news release said that over 50% of skin cancers manifest on the left side of the body. He continued by saying “Our initial findings confirm that there is a correlation between more time spent driving and a higher incidence of left-sided skin cancers, especially on sun-exposed areas in men,”

Researches attribute this split to our sun exposure while driving in the car. Given that AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that the average American spends 17,600 minutes driving each year, that’s a lot time for one half of your body to be receiving more UV radiation than the other.

To prevent skin cancer, always keep sunscreen in your car and apply before driving. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends applying a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 and reapplying every two hours. Sunscreen is critical, because at least 50% of UVA rays can pass through glass, and even though they aren’t as intense as UVB rays, UVA rays are 30 to 50 times more common than UVB.

Another option is having a professionally installed window film installed. This is an even better way to filter the UV radiation that causes most types of skin cancer, because it filters all the time without the need for reapplying every two hours. In addition, many professionally installed window films are recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation. You can check out their article on using window film for sun protection by clicking HERE.

At-Home UV Protection

Skin Protection While at Home Using Home Window FilmsSpeaking of windows, our homes are another place where we’re exposed to the sun’s rays. Untreated windows let in rays that wash out your furniture and damage your skin, so take precautions. Apply sunscreen if you’ll be sitting in a sunny area, and never bring a tanning bed or UV-based light into your home. If you have concerns about the UV impact in your house, you might even consider installing UV sensors

An easier solution is to have a window film installed to block out up to 99.9% of those damaging rays. Because films put a barrier between your home and the sun, they reflect heat from the exterior and trap it inside during the winter.

For more information on the benefits of window films for protecting your home, check out the Skin Cancer Foundation’s blog post on the topic.

UV Protection on the Job

Skin Protection While Working With Commercial Window FilmsWhile you’re on the job, you’re still being affected by damaging rays. If your business has a storefront, a window film will block those rays and protect your merchandise and furniture from becoming washed out, while also saving you energy costs.

If you’re lucky enough to sit by a window while you work, don’t forget to consider windows film or a broad-spectrum sunscreen reapplied regularly. If neither these options is feasible, try and situate your workspace where you won’t be sitting directly in the sun. If you work outside, sunscreen is especially important! The Skin Cancer Foundation found that 85% of melanomas and 90% of nonmelanoma skin cancers come from exposure to UV radiation, so if you’re working full time outdoors, your risk will increase exponentially.

So, as we start in Skin Cancer Awareness Month, we hope you found this article informative and now understand how window films can play a part in your overall skin protection plan.

Why Automotive Window Films Are A Wise Choice For Any Vehicle https://midwesttinting.com/2020/02/21/automotive-window-films-kansas-city/ Fri, 21 Feb 2020 14:43:02 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=15413 An automotive window film can redefine the look of any vehicle, but also add UV protection, heat control, glare reduction, and additional privacy. With its wide array of benefits and sharp appearance, automotive window films are an economical way to improve the performance and look of your vehicle.
When you’re outside in the sun, you typically take measures to protect your skin with sunscreen and clothing that covers your skin. Did you know that when you drive, you are just as exposed to the sun’s harmful UV rays as you are outside! Skin cancers are most prevalent on the left side of people in the US due to the constant exposure when driving! By adding an automotive window film to your vehicle, you will be reducing exposure to harmful UV rays by up to 99.9%.
Do you hate getting into your car on a hot sunny day? Automotive window films can reject up to 60% of solar energy coming in through your windows. This leads to cooler, more evenly controlled temperatures and faster cool downs once the air conditioning is turned on. Nobody enjoys a hot and steamy car on a hot summer’s day so consider an automotive window film to keep your vehicle cool and comfortable.
Protect your vehicle from prying eyes with an automotive window film. Whether you desire privacy on the road or just want to make your valuables harder to see when parked, an automotive window film is an economical way to increase your privacy and provide an added layer of security.
Depending on the time of your commute, the sun’s glare can really impact your comfort and safety while driving. Glare is inconvenient at best, and potentially deadly at worst! Significantly reducing the glare from the sunlight will allow you to appreciate driving on sunny days without feeling blinded by the sun’s rays.
Never compromise on the quality of product and service when choosing a window film installation company. Please contact us at one of our three convenient Kansas City locations.

All of Midwest Tinting’s XPEL certified installers have been trained by the manufacturer before earning their certification. We guarantee precise alignment around surface features such as parking sensors, headlamp washers and other design elements. We take our time wrapping the film along the perimeter of the difficult curvature of each panel. The edges are wrapped wherever possible for a truly invisible barrier against the hazards awaiting you on the road.
A common concern of Tesla drivers is that the paint from the manufacturer is a softer, water-based paint rumored to be more susceptible to damage. Xpel Paint Protection is equipped with a high energy surface level, which allows the material to heal itself from unsightly swirl marks and light scratches that can occur through ordinary washing and drying or daily driving.
Midwest Tinting - Your Source for Tesla Model Upgrades - Window Tinting, Paint Protection Film and Vehicle Graphic work in the Kansas City Area. 3Surprisingly to most, this level of protection comes without compromise. If it fails, we’ll replace it. You drive one of the finest cars in the world, protect it with finest paint protection film available on the market.
Coverage options are completely customizable. Whether you want to protect just the partial front end, or wrap every inch of paint – we take the time to move the patterns around and eliminate as much waste as we can, saving you as much money as possible.

Five Major Benefits of Vehicle Window Tinting in Kansas City https://midwesttinting.com/2019/07/22/benefits-vehicle-window-tinting-kansas-city/ Mon, 22 Jul 2019 19:45:07 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=12772 With Summer finally here, we wanted to share the five major benefits of vehicle window tinting that were detailed in The NewsWheel online magazine. As the article states, “While many people consider the use of window tint as an application of a cosmetic makeover for their vehicles, window tinting offers plenty of other major benefits worth considering.” So, what are these benefits? We summarized the article for you below.

  1. Reduced UV Ray Exposure – As we have mentioned in previous articles, window film’s UV blocking properties can have significant health benefits. The article in The NewsWheel continues by saying “Excessive UV ray exposure to the human skin is known to cause a myriad of health issues such as sunburn, premature aging, suppression of the immune system, damage to the skin, and skin cancer.
  2. Increased Privacy – Besides the look of window tint, privacy is often the most typical reason to get vehicle window tint. As mentioned in the article, “This is the most obvious advantage of window tinting. The window film can reject visible light from making its way to the interior, hence making it difficult for prying eyes to see what is beyond the window. On normal circumstances, a car burglar is always motivated to commit a theft when able to see what is inside the car.
  3. Provides a Cool & Comfortable Interior – With Summer heat on the way, we all want to keep the inside of our vehicle cool and comfortable. As the article mentions, vehicle window tint can offer major benefits in this area. “One major benefit of window tints is that they can reduce the heat in your car. While regular glass windows only filter about 30% of solar heat, a professionally installed window tint can filter more than 80%. The main benefit of heat reduction in your interior is the provision of comfortable and luxuriously cool conditions even during the hot summer period. The other remarkable benefit of a cool interior is that it can save on your fuel economy by lessening the need to use your air conditioning.
  4. Preserves Your Interior – Going along with the some other benefits mentioned, having your interior cooler and protected from UV rays offers additional benefits. As mentioned in The NewsWheel article, the other “benefit of a cool interior is the preservation of the car’s interior. Continuous exposure to excessive heat can lead to the development of cracks in your leather seats and fading of the interior upholstery.
  5. Safety – This is one benefit that many people do not think of when it comes to vehicle window tint, but maybe they should. As the article details, “Tinted windows protect the glass from shattering in case of an accident. The tint film is a laminate, and when applied to the cars` window, it holds the glass window together and provides an entirely sealed unit. In the event of an accident or window breakage, the film holds the glass firmly, preventing it from shattering. Without the tint, the glass can easily shatter and spray flying pieces at occupants.

You may wonder why we are sharing this information with you. Things to Know Before Buying Automotive Window Tint in Kansas City https://midwesttinting.com/2019/04/28/automotive-window-tint-kansas-city-2/ Mon, 29 Apr 2019 02:08:19 +0000 https://midwestint.wpenginepowered.com/?p=11976 Automotive window tint for your vehicle is something not many people give a second thought to. While you may know that you want it done, how much research have you done to ensure that you will be happy with the overall result? Unfortunately, most people only notice a window tint job when one is done improperly or the window tint has gone bad. Fortunately, these are easy pitfalls to avoid, so we wanted to give you three things to consider before you get your vehicle tinted.

  1. Do you only want the look or do you want performance too? – Just like most other items you can purchase for your vehicle, there are numerous levels of automotive window tint quality and performance. You first need to determine if you only want the look of tinted windows or if you actually would like some noticeable heat and UV rejection as well. While an inexpensive film might make your windows look the way you want, it may barely reject any heat at all. The good news is that with the latest generations of window tint you can have great looks and tremendous performance.Spend some time discussing your options with our team at Midwest Tinting so that you can make the right choice to give you the combination of desired look and heat and UV rejecting performance.
  2. How experienced is the installer? – Many of the modifications done to a vehicle can be done by individuals with a variety of skill levels without drastically effecting the end result. However, window tint is quite different. An experienced installer can make all the difference between you have a great looking tint job that you can be proud of or an eyesore not worthy of your vehicle. A good installer can make an even average window tint look great based on the quality of their installation. Likewise, an inexperienced installer can take the best window film available and get a substandard result based on flaws in the installation. We have national, award winning, installers at Midwest Tinting to ensure you get the results you will be happy with. To have a tint job that will last and that you can be proud of, make sure to verify a company’s experience level and ask to see some examples of their work.
  3. Who is standing behind the product and installation? – We would all love to live in a world where things did not go wrong. Unfortunately, things can and do sometimes turn out different than we would like. Just like any other product you might purchase, there can be situations where an automotive window tint can fail and need to be replaced. It is when this happens that the company standing behind the film that was installed and the shop that did the installation become very important. At Midwest Tinting, we use top quality window film and we have been servicing the greater Kansas City area for over 30 years.

Any quality window tint job should come with a warranty card from the manufacturer that spells out the terms of the warranty and the process to get something corrected if there is ever an issue. If a shop does not tell you what brand of window tint is being installed or provide you with a warranty card, that should be a red flag to look elsewhere for your installation.
I hope that these three basic questions to consider help you to make a more informed decision the next time you get your vehicle tinted.
