How long do you have to wait to roll down windows after tinting?

Car window tinting is easily one of the most effective and least expensive options for your windows to get a shiny and attractive look. These car window tints will only allow the appropriate light inside while making the interior look more spacious and also reducing the glare. Getting the car windows tinted is extremely popular but there are times when people complain about tiny bubbles appearing between the window and the tint sheet.

Air bubbles usually appear if

  • There are water droplets present at the time window was being tinted
  • There was dirt or residue present during tinting
  • The installer didn’t wipe the window properly before tinting

 

But when does it become safe to roll down the windows?

Once the windows are tinted, the big question arises that when will it be ok to roll down the windows. If you roll down the car windows too soon especially after advanced glass tinting, the windows can face a number of problems. Almost all the tinting professionals recommend that the car owners must wait at least 3 – 4 days after the tinting is installed before rolling the windows down. By waiting for 3 – 4 days, you can ensure that the tint is adhering to the glass properly. If you neglect this issue, it can lead to problems as huge as having to reinstall the tint and it can cost you a fortune.

 

Always be mindful of the conditions in the drying phase

An important detail that most people must be aware of is how to properly dry the windows during cloudy or hazy conditions after installation. Even though it is normal but the air can cause air bubbles in the tint due to the air packets which are working their way out of the tint. Over time, these bubbles and the haziness will easily dissipate and you will get clear tinted windows.

It is often recommended to try to keep the windows warm and in presence of sunlight especially if there is a presence of bubbles in the window. You can make use of natural sunlight or hairdryer to keep the window warm and remove any bubbles if they are present.
